Latrobe Community Health Services is urging shoppers at Stockland Traralgon to switch sugary drinks for water when buying a takeaway lunch this month. 

With more than half of Gippsland's adult population being overweight or obese, the campaign aims to reduce high obesity rates in the region.

Nine food outlets at the shopping centre have pledged to ask their customers if they’d like water with their meal as part of the campaign.
