Up to 500 new jobs will be created in the Latrobe Valley in the next 12 months after SEA Electric confirmed they are building a new factory in Morwell.

The company is expected to begin manufacturing an estimated 2,400 electric delivery vans and minibuses per year once it is set up, with the potential of doubling production later.

This morning, Eastern Victorian MP Harriett Shing told Hit FM News the state government helped secure the company's move through a grant from the Latrobe Valley support package. "It's not just about the money, it's also about the assistance and engagement to make sure SEA Electrics' endeavours and operations are the best success they can possibly be, and that workers in the Latrobe Valley have access to a new industry as it grows and evolves with the technology and markets that are opening up across the world."

SEA Electric are looking for land to build the factory.

In the spirit of Halloween, Hit FM's Nick & Zoe caught up with Coal Creek ghost tour guide Lizzy this morning. Catch up with the podcast below!
