This corner of Queen Street and Hazel Drive in Warragul won't be vacant much longer

The Minister for Planning has officially approved a zoning change to an allotment of land in Warragul for a large-scale retail development.

The new shopping precinct is expected to cost 30 million dollars and is likely to include a Kmart, Dan Murphy's and Bunnings on the corner of Queen Street and Hazel Drive.

Up to 260 full-time jobs are likely to be created as well as 150 construction jobs during the building phase.

Approval from the Planning Office will allow the Baw Baw Shire Council to begin taking applications from retailers.
