Gippsland men are putting their future well-being at risk by failing to take proactive measures towards managing their own health, according to new research from Amcal pharmacy.

The Heart Health survey found that less than a fifth of Aussie men would only take preventative health measures if their family encouraged them to do so.

Amcal senior pharmacist James Neville told Hit FM News this morning it's concerning when almost half of the male population would wait until a serious health scare before taking action. "The first step for families is to be armed with the facts about heart health. And if they are worried about a loved one, we encourage local residents to go and visit their pharmacy or GP to get it checked out."
