South Gippsland Water Told Not To Increase Prices By 20-25% Over 5 Years

South Gippsland Water's proposal to increase prices by 20 to 25% over a 5 year period has been conditionally denied by the Essential Services Commission.

According to the services regulator, the proposed price increase was the largest by far for any water corporation, the company's submission did not support the need for such an increase, and featured a considerable number of errors.

South Gippsland Water must provide an updated submission to the Essential Services Commission by 8th May. Customers can have their say on the initial decision prior to the final ruling being made in June.
