Solid Waste To Be Turned Into Power At Maryvale Paper Mill

Maryvale's Australian Paper Mill has lodged an application to the Environment Protection Authority to build a large-scale waste-to-energy facility.

The application proposes the facility would accept and use an estimated 650,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste, as well as some commercial and industrial waste from Melbourne and Gippsland each year.

The 30 megawatts of electricity and 150 tonnes of steam produced per hour would be used to power the Australian Paper Mill, while also exporting to the grid.

From power to parmas, earlier this week Nick & Zoe took your calls on where to find the best parmigiana in Gippsland. Catch up with their podcast below.
