A residential rehabilitation centre will be built in the Latrobe Valley if the Liberal Nationals are elected next month.

The coalition’s plans would see an 18 to 20 bed facility constructed, catering to patients of all ages with alcohol and drug addictions, at a cost of 7 million dollars.

This announcement comes after the state government revealed last month they will build a youth residential rehabilitation centre in Morwell.

Recent figures from the Coroner's Court show Latrobe Valley has the second-highest rate of fatal drug overdoses in regional Victoria.
