Population Growth Booming In Parts Of Gippsland

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released new figures showing some huge population growth in parts of Gippsland and Melbourne's South East.

Warragul's population has grown by 24% in 10 years, and in Koo Wee Rup there's been a 35% increase in residents.

With population growth expected to be a key state election issue, the Victorian State Opposition has started a Population Policy Taskforce to develop policies such as decentralisation; while Education Minister James Merlino has promised more schools will be built to keep up with growing demand.
