Poor Phone Reception On Gippsland Trains? That's About To Change!

Train passengers travelling on the Traralgon line will soon enjoy better mobile phone reception.

Work has started on the Regional Rail Connectivity Project, which is ensuring V/Line passengers on Victoria’s 5 busiest lines, including Traralgon, will have mobile reception during their commute.

Around a quarter of Velocity trains are now fitted with signal boosters, and the rest of the fleet will be fully connected by the end of the year. An extra 35 mobile signal towers are also being installed.

The state government is working with Telstra, Vodafone and Optus to ensure passengers can work on the train, which is estimated to boost the economy by 20 million dollars.
