Police Reveal Concerning Stats Involving Gippsland Drivers Over Long Weekend

Concerning statistics have emerged following a Victoria Police operation that ran in Latrobe Valley over the Australia Day long weekend.

Operation Amity caught 12 people driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol over the 4 day duration. Police also pulled over 8 disqualified or unlicensed drivers behind the wheel of vehicles on our Gippsland roads.

In addition, 30 speeding offenses were detected during the operation and there were 10 mobile phone-related infringements.

Victoria Police say the number of people still getting caught is highly disappointing.
