Pakenham Train Station is one of the stations set to benefit from the state government promising to build an extra 1,500 car parks on the Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines.

The station capacity would be more than doubled with an extra 450 parking spaces if Labor is re-elected in November, alleviating the need for passengers to park in nearby streets or station-hop to find a car park.

The Victorian government has pledged to build an additional 11,000 spaces across the state, creating 400 construction jobs in the region.
