Construction is underway on building a new $48.2 million visitor centre at the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island.
The new centre will include a restaurant and café, an education centre and theatrette, and the construction is expected to provide 200 jobs to local workers.
The state government invested the funds through the Regional Tourism Infrastructure fund to ensure the parade remains one of Victoria’s primary tourist attractions.
The project is due for completion in November 2019.
