Warragul CBD is about to undergo the installation of some new CCTV cameras.
The surveillance cameras will be installed on Queen Street following a spate of crimes in the area and they will be beamed directly into Warragul Police Station.
The $92,000 project has been funded by the federal government's Safer Streets program, supporting local initiatives to deter and detect crime.
Baw Baw Shire Mayor Joe Gauci says the cameras will be positioned between Smith and Mason Streets in Warragul and into the Queen Street Park, with the aim of keeping patrons safer at night.
The installation is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
