Mirboo North Residents Furious At Plans To Log 50 Hectares Of Forest

Local flora and fauna call the area home

Mirboo North Residents Furious At Plans To Log 50 Hectares Of Forest Koalas are among the many animals set to lose their home if forest locations around Mirboo North are logged.

A large turnout of local residents packed into Mirboo North Shire Hall last night to hear controversial plans of logging 50 hectares of nearby bushland.

VicForests conducted community discussions with over 250 concerned residents, which would see 3 locations logged and harvested.

The area is home to many local flora and fauna - including bandicoots, koalas, wedge-tailed eagles, and orchids.

VicForests will take on board the community feedback before any final decision is made.
