Mirboo North Deforestation - South Gippsland Council To Join Protesters

As the debate continues around VicForests' proposal to log 112 hectares of state forest in Mirboo North, another big supporter is now on board and joining residents in protesting. 

The South Gippsland Shire Council will now oppose VicForests' deforestation plans which, if they go ahead, will destroy the Lyrebird Forest Walk.

Councillors have noted that the $16 million made from tourism in Mirboo North each year would decrease if the logging north of the town goes ahead.
