Latrobe Valley remains second-highest in Victoria when it comes to state crime rates.

The latest crime stats for Victoria have revealed a 7% decrease in the number of offences committed around the state in the 12 months up to June, compared with the previous year.

Latrobe Valley registered 18,540 offences per 100,000 people, which is a 0.8% decrease on the same time in 2017.

Bass Coast saw a 19.8% drop, South Gippsland figures were down by 14.4%, and Baw Baw Shire saw an increased crime rate of 2.7% in the past 12 months.
