The Southern Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook has revealed we are likely to experience an earlier start to the fire season in Gippsland.

While West Gippsland is expected to have a "normal" fire season depending on how much rain is received in the lead up to summer, East Gippsland conditions appear to be above normal.

Currently, the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting less rain than usual, and warmer than average conditions.

Emergency Management Commissioner Andrew Crisp has announced that Forest Fire Management Victoria and CFA have brought forward preparedness activities, including their fire prevention works.

We're advised to download the VicEmergency app, and bookmark this website.

The outlook will be updated again in November.
