Yarragon residents are invited to have a say on whether the town's old primary school site should be kept.
The land has been sitting idle since the school was closed by the Department of Education back in 2015 with no community groups using it for events.
The government is now looking to sell the land. Mayor of Baw Baw Shire, Joe Gauci, says the council needs to be presented with options for a viable use of the site before they consider purchasing the land. "It would need to be something the community wanted before we even looked at it. We're not in the habit of buying land just to hold onto it."
It's the second time the council has been invited to buy the land at a discounted rate.
We're invited to voice our opinion on how to utilise the former school grounds here on the Baw Baw Shire website.
