Labor has confirmed they will provide 217 million dollars to complete stage 3A of the Latrobe Regional Hospital redevelopment if they are re-elected at next month's state election.

Money will be allocated for 44 additional beds, a further 3 operating theatres, 2 new birthing suites in the maternity unit, and the car park will be expanded to include 227 extra spaces.

Premier Daniel Andrews said the funding will ensure the hospital in Traralgon will remain the centre of healthcare in Latrobe Valley. "An extra 200 full-time jobs are coming because of this expansion. 600 jobs in the construction phase, and literally thousands of patients that will be able to get the care they need in the community that they've helped to build".

If re-elected, the Labor government will finalise the designs next year and work would be completed by 2023.
