Mt Baw Baw has become only the second snow mountain in Australia to purchase a snow factory, and it means the 2018 snow season can begin early!
Their TechnoAlpin machine was unveiled this week, which will enable the mountain to create snow in any conditions and keep the lifts running if the weather doesn't produce enough snow naturally.
General Manager of Mt Baw Baw's ski resorts, John Fascio, told Hit FM News this morning the factory will allow their snow season to open earlier than the usual Queen's Birthday weekend. "We're targeting June 1st, everything going well. And we can do that because of the snow factory and the ability to make snow at basically any temperature."
The snow factory will produce falls of up to 40 centimetres deep - roughly about knee height.
