A house south of Cairns that has royal connections is up for sale.

All real estate agents will say is it's bordered by ancient World Heritage tropical rainforest, is 10 minutes from the Great Barrier Reef, Frankland Islands and 350 metres from one of the top five waterfalls in tropical north Queensland.

They'll only tell the exact location of the 32-hectare property to serious buyers.

LJ Hooker Marketing agent Cheyenne Morrison told domain the location has been kept secret for 100 years.

The property is listed at 1.8 million dollars and was once owned by the godson of Queen Victoria.

“The house may be different but the property, the rainforest, the waterfall…it’s all completely the same. It’s absolutely pristine because it’s been such a well-kept secret,” Mr Morrison says.

The current four-bedroom, one-bathroom Queenslander home was built in 1948.
