Flood Warnings for FNQ

Moderate Flood Warning for the Mulgrave River and Flood Warning for the Russell River

Minor to moderate flood levels are being recorded in the upper Mulgrave River during Tuesday afternoon.

Rainfall totals of between 50-100 mm have been recorded across the upper Mulgrave River catchment since 9:00 am Tuesday. Further showers and storms with some heavy falls are possible over the next few days.

Mulgrave River:

Moderate flooding is likely along the Mulgrave River during Tuesday afternoon.

The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is currently at 4.55 metres and rising. The river level at Peets Bridge is likely to reach the moderate flood level (7.00

  1. m) early Tuesday evening.

The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is currently at 8.90 metres and rising. The river level at Gordonvale is likely to reach the moderate flood level (13.00 m) Tuesday evening.

Russell River:

Minor flood levels continue to rise in the Russell River catchment at Clyde Road with further rises up to the moderate flood level (1.0 metre) possible during Tuesday evening.
