Four Mile Beach at Port Douglas is closed due to a four meter croc sighting.

The crocodile sighting was reported to the Department of Environment and Science.

A Surf Life Saving North Queensland spokeswoman said the beach was expected to be reopened at 11am if there were no further sightings.

The beach was also closed last Monday when a crocodile swam through the flagged zone.

A lifeguard spotted the crocodile about 60m offshore, around the yellow and red buoys.
