Cairns Aquarium

Well, looks like today is sorted for something to do!

The Cairns Aquarium has announced a new tourist attraction for the Far North.

We'll get to go on an underwater journey thanks to the new federally funded 5D Sea Explorer.

The 270 degree underwater view will let tourists see the reef and rain forest without getting wet or leaving the aquarium.

Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch was on hand to officially open the $4.7 million dollar attraction on Friday.

“This attraction provides a memorable experience and interaction with the incredible fish and animals from the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics rain forest and the addition of an underwater submarine simulator ride experience of other realms is a wonderful enhancement to a fun day out for the family."He said.

It's set to be a game changer for the industry, with plenty already to do when you visit the aquarium but now an added bonus for tourists.
