Imagine finding this!

Vacate cleans. Don’t you just dread them!

They can be the worst part of your tenancy. That inevitable point in time where you can’t ignore those familiar cobwebs, stains and marks any longer – it’s now time to roll up the sleeves and clean, clean and clean some more.

Such was the task for one former Bungalow resident recently when it was time to leave their humble abode of five years and head off to new digs.

The resident decided to do a thorough clean so everything had to come out for a good scrubbing.

And so it was that they cleaned every nook and cranny until they were sparkling. But one little nook just sparkled and sparkled a little more, until our domestic dust-buster realised the source of the extra brilliance – diamonds!

Did you or anyone you know of, live at a Scott Street residence sometime between 2000 and 2012 and pop something away that you may have forgotten about?

Anyone who believes that these diamonds may be theirs, is urged to contact Cairns Police to discuss the matter further.

Now obviously, with property of this calibre, police aren’t about to hand them over to the first person who pops in with a creative tale! Proof of ownership will be a good start (remember we’re holding certain documentation!) but in lieu of that, we’re going to require some very convincing evidence of ownership.

Oh, and by the way – the diamonds in the above photo are not the ones which were found.

If we can’t establish ownership then our honest and fastidious finder is going to have their hard work rewarded – handsomely!

If you believe you are the rightful owner, please contact the Cairns Police Property Office between 8am and 4pm by phoning 40307207.
