It's official, it's going to be a weekend finish for the 2017 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. With a building swell and favourable winds, epic conditions are in store for the finals.
The forecast is for building swell on Saturday with waves in the 8-12 ft range and then big swell on Sunday (10-14ft) and very light offshore winds which should make for perfect conditions.
It is expected the women's finals will be held tomorrow with the men likely to wrap up on Sunday. Surfing is tipped to be on early Saturday and early Sunday, with the potential of a mid morning finish each day so spectators are encouraged to get down first thing in the morning. The call will be made at 6:45am tomorrow with the first heat of the day to get underway as early as 7am.
