Orana Mid-Western Police conducted a successful drug dog operation on the weekend.
The operation, which was designed to surprise licensed venues and catch out people selling and consuming prohibited drugs, took place across the Orana region.
On Friday night, the operation targeted hotels and clubs in Coonabarabran, Gilgandra and Coonamble. Three people were charged and will front court, as a result.
On Saturday, police moved the drug operation to Narromine, Wellington and Dubbo.
At the Amaroo Hotel, it's alleged that a 19 year old Narromine man was found in possession of a considerable amount of MDMA tablets. He was arrested and charged with possessing a prohibited drug, to face Dubbo Local Court on a date to be affixed.
A 22 year old man, again, at the Amaroo, was identified by the drug dog, as possibly having possession of a prohibited drug. He was searched and found to be in possession of an amount of MDMA tablets and cash. He was arrested and charged with supplying a prohibited drug, and dealing in the proceeds of crime. He was bailed to appear in Dubbo Local Court on April 11th, 2018.
Also at the Amaroo, a 66 year old Dubbo woman was found to be in possession of cannabis. She is eligible for a caution under the cannabis cautioning scheme.
