Police Appeal For Information About Robbery At Cobar

Police are appealing to the community for information about an armed robbery that occurred at Cobar in March 2018.

About 4am on Saturday 3 March 2018, a 32-year-old woman was working alone at a service station on Marshall Street Cobar.

A short time later a man described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and aged in his early 20’s, threatened the woman with a 30cm knife and demanded money.

A second man also threatened the woman. He is also described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, and was armed with a stick.

A third male stole petrol from the service station.

All three fled on foot a short time later with a quantity of cash.

Police from Central North Police District attended and established a crime scene.

The employee was not injured during the incident.

On Monday 5 March 2018 Police located a broken down red Ford Laser on the Kidman Highway 50km from Cobar. Police believe this vehicle is linked to the armed robbery.

It is believed that the three males involved in the armed robbery hitch-hiked from the Kidman Highway south towards Hillston.

Police are urging anyone who might have seen this red Ford Laser on the day of the robbery, or anyone who gave a lift to three males from the Kidman Highway south towards Hillston to come forward.
