New Rules To Protect Local Property Owners

Residents Given A Fair Go

New Rules To Protect Local Property Owners

Local farmers across the Central West are set to benefit from new rules announced by the Turnbull Government, that will see residents given a fair go when it comes to the sale of agricultural land in our backyard.

It comes following concerns that some properties were being sold overseas, without being advertised locally.

The changes will require that farmland be marketed widely to potential Aussie bidders for a minimum of 30 days, to give locals the chance to participate in the sale process.

The rules will also see foreign purchases of land worth more than $15 million facing a National Interest Test.
