Preparations are underway to replace play equipment at Daphne Park Playground in Central Dubbo as part of Dubbo Regional Council’s schedule of playground renewals.
“The $50,000 renewal includes the removal of existing playground and installation of new equipment and softfall material,” project manager Ben Pilon said.
“Removal of the old equipment has been scheduled for late next week and the installation of the new equipment has been scheduled to start Monday 24 July and will take approximately 2 weeks.”
“The new playground, which includes a swing set, carousel, pod swing, diabolo multi-play unit, fortune wheel play panel and a seahorse springer, will offer a greater range of play activities and will suit a broader range of ages than the existing playground.”
“The Daphne park playground replacement forms part of the broader program to update and improve the level of playground equipment within Dubbo.”
“Two designs were submitted to the public for consultation to pick their favourite design, from a total of 854 votes, the contract was awarded to Proludic, who gained 70% of the votes.”
Other recent replacements have included Lunar Park and Spears Drive Park which were completed in the previous financial year.
