Level 6 water restrictions will come into effect in Coonabarabran from midnight on Monday 5th March, 2018.
Warrumbungle Shire Council has had to make this decision due to ongoing dry conditions, dropping water supplies and high usage levels.
As of Monday 5th March, 2018, the water level at Timor Dam was 28.1% of dam capacity. The current dam level is the lowest level that it has been since its construction in 1964 and is lower than the worst level recorded during the 2002-2010 millennium drought.
Residents are encouraged to limit their water usage and preserve water wherever possible.
For a range of water saving tips and for full details of Level 6 water restrictions, please refer to the Warrumbungle Water page on Council’s website.
In the meantime, Council is investigating alternative water sources.
