Hospital Treating More Patients In Less Time

Despite a widespread trend across the states hospitals of an increase in wait times in the emergency department, staff at the Dubbo Base Hospital were able to treat more patients in less time according to the latest data from the Bureau of Health Information.

The BHI's quarterly report shows that 9,026 patients presented to the emergency department from July to September. That’s up 8.9% from the same period last year.

Working their hardest to see patients out the door as quickly as possible, many of them presenting symptoms of influenza, with 72.6% of patients that attended the ED saw a wait time of less than 4 hours - an improvement from the same quarter in 2016.
