Demolition Of Buildings For NSW RFS Training facility

Dubbo Regional Council held an Extraordinary Council meeting on Wednesday 31st January, 2018 in Dubbo. The meeting, chaired by Mayor Ben Shields made resolutions in respect of the following matter:

Demolition of buildings at the Dubbo City Regional Airport for the NSW Rural Fire Service Training Facility

A tender from Newbold Bulk Haulage Pty Ltd for the amount of $182,000 was accepted by Council for the demolition of buildings at the Dubbo City Regional Airport for the NSW Rural Fire Service Training Facility.

“The demolition of these building is the first step to enable the construction of the state of the art Rural Fire Services (RFS) Training Facility,” Clr Shields said.

“The NSW RFS is relocating to Dubbo from Homebush, and the site chosen is an ideal location, having an area of approximately 3ha,” Clr Shields said.

“This is an exciting development for the region, which will provide an estimated $18M injection into the local economy during the construction phase, and with a 30 year lease agreement in place, it is fair to say that the flow-on effects will be felt in the local economy well into the future,” he said.
