Charges Laid Over Stolen Goods In Wellington

A man has been charged over alleged stolen goods in Wellington.

About 5.20am on Monday 25 December 2017, police will allege a community hall in Pierce Street was broken into and power tools were stolen.

Police from Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation.

About 11.30am on Thursday 4 January 2018, officers attended a home in Wellington.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with receive/dispose stolen property, two counts of goods suspected stolen in custody, possess prohibited weapon, receive prohibited weapon, and possess ammunition without holding a licence.

He was granted conditional bail and is due before Wellington Local Court on Tuesday 16 January 2018.
