Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists there will be changed traffic conditions from Monday 26 March on the Newell Highway from Alam to Baird Streets and the Mitchell Highway from LH Ford Bridge to Young Street at Dubbo.
Work will involve digging small holes to locate utilities and establish ground conditions to inform future road improvements on the Newell Highway Mitchell Highway Intersection Upgrade Project.
Work will be carried out at night between 9pm and 5am from Monday 26 March and is expected to be completed in three nights, weather permitting.
The community will be notified in advance if work is required outside these hours.
Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of noise associated with this work, including turning machinery off when not in use, completing the noisier activities earlier in the night and directing lights away from residences where possible.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic controllers and all signs, including reduced speed limits.
