Call For Higher Staff-To-Patient Ratios

The NSW Nurses and Midwives Association is calling for Dubbo Base Hospital to introduce higher staff-to-patient ratios, to prevent nurses being overwhelmed with patient numbers.

They say better, more transparent ratios are needed across regional and rural NSW to allow nurses and midwives to deliver safer care to patients.

General Secretary of the NSW NMA BRETT HOLMES says delivering safety for patients should be the Health Minister's first priority.
