Orana Mid Western Police are investigating a break and enter where a male has forced entry to a unit on Myall Street, Dubbo, about 1.00 am this morning.
The yet unidentified male menaced a 25 year old female resident with a knife before ransacking the premises, taking several items of property as well as stealing the victim motor car and fleeing.
The offender is described as having medium coloured skin, mid 20's, about 150 - 160 CM tall, of solid build.
The victim's car, a blue 2003 model Ford Falcon sedan, with NSW plates YCL22A, is still outstanding.
The victim was not injured, but was very shaken by the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have seen something suspicious on Myall Street this morning to come forward, either by ringing Dubbo detectives on 68831599 or by attending Dubbo Police Station.
We also appeal to the public to be on the look out for the victim's blue Falcon. Police ask that anyone seeing the vehicle not to approach it or it's occupants but give us a call straight away.
Inspector Dan Skelly says, "We are treating this matter with a high degree of seriousness and have collected an amount of forensic evidence from the scene. Our criminal investigators are following a number of leads with the view of identifying suspects. In light of this incident we appeal to the community to ensure their house is well secured at all times, the weather has been hot lately and realise that most people like to have a window open to catch an cool breeze, we now ask that people reconsider this and warn that criminal will take any opportunity to commit crime".
