Youth homelessness continues to be a major issue for our younger generation on the Darling Downs.

Mission Australia’s latest report released yesterday states about one in seven young Queenslanders surveyed had experienced homelessness.

Homelessness is not just sleeping on the streets anymore, it's couch surfing and not having a stable home to go to.

Mission Australia’s Going Places program provides an essential service for young people in the community at risk of homelessness and it has been making big changes to youth homelessness crisis in Toowoomba.

The program has been working for the past seven months getting our kids off the streets, off friends’ couches and away from unstable homes.

Mission Australia now wants our politicians to look at a national strategy to help our younger generation.

Mission Australia Queensland State Director Darren Young says they want to see the Government step in now.
