A woman who chose to use a lost bankcard to purchase alcohol at a bar has received a hefty fine.

The Tara woman plead guilty in the Dalby Magistrates Court last month to one charge of possessing tainted property and four charges of fraud.

The woman obtained the misplaced bankcard using it at the Windsor Hotel, Dalby in February.  She purchased drinks from the hotel bar for both herself and her friend using ‘tap and go’.

She racked up $88.90 at the bar, which she was ordered to pay back and was fined $900 in relation to the five charges.

No conviction was recorded.
