Police were conducting patrols on the intersection of Tor and Taylor Streets around 7:20am when a caravan disengaged from its trailer coming to a rest in the front yard of a unit complex in Newtown.  The caravan was destroyed on impact.

The Landcruiser was then allegedly driven from the crash. 

Police located the vehicle stationary on Hagan Street a short time later and arrested two women at the scene.

A 27-year-old Rockville woman has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle whilst adversely affected, assault police, obstruct police, driving unlicensed, enter dwelling with intent and enter premises and commit indictable offence.

She is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow (September 27).

A 28-year-old Harristown woman has been charged with obstruct police and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and has been bailed to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on October 23.
