Toowoomba Sits at #3 For Unemployment in Queensland

Parts of Toowoomba rounded out the five highest areas in Queensland by postcode for the number of Newstart recipients.

Over 3,800 people from Toowoomba are on the Newstart Allowance. 

Newly released statistics show the Garden City is the third highest area in Queensland for people on the dole.

It comes from the latest Department of Social Services figures available, covering the December 2016 quarter.

Newstart is the main payment for unemployed people over the age of 22.
