Attempted armed robbery

Teenager Avoids Jail Time

A Toowoomba teen has avoided jail time with the court ruling his armed robbery attempt as incompetent.

the 17-year-old had attempted to hold up a Bridge Street store at knife point on July 1st.

The offender ordered the store attendant who was stacking shelves of a refrigerator at the time back to counter – however he failed to follow the attendant who used the opportunity to lock the door and pretended to call police.  The would-be robber heard the call and fled the scene empty handed.

The court ordered his conviction not be recorded and placed Burton on a 2-years-probation and 100 hours of community service.
