Toowoomba Christian College (TCC) has won the inaugural Mayor’s Telstra Technology Award with an innovative idea of a smart-watch designed to help young people manage and monitor their anxiety.

The inaugural competition saw six schools from across the region generating ideas and developing them through to the final pitch and presentation.

Clifton State High School received the Spirit of Competition Award, chosen by the mentors, in recognition of their dedication to the development of their idea.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the inaugural Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards had been a real success and they would only grow into the future.

“I would like to congratulate the schools that have entered this year and encourage other schools in our region to take part in the future." said Mayor Antonio.
