The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) will visit Toowoomba on Monday 10 April 2017, as part of their statewide Play Your Part child safety education roadshow.

“This work is all about prevention; stopping child abuse and neglect before it happens. We know that one of the best ways to do this is to educate community members – particularly those who work directly or indirectly with children – about how they can play their part in protecting children.

“These workshops are usually offered as fee for service, so this is a great opportunity for community organisations to access free training and - more importantly - keep our children safe.”

Minister for Child Safety Shannon Fentiman said while child safety staff and non-government agencies did a great job in dealing with some of the most vulnerable children in our state, it was important to build responsible communities playing their part in caring for children at the outset.

“Child safety is everyone’s business and giving people the skills to create child safe environments helps prevent abuse and neglect of children,” she said.
