Toowoomba Regional Council is on track to upgrade the historic Railway Goods Shed as part of a long-term investment in the Railway Parklands precinct.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the project was a strategic investment which would help to unleash the potential of the precinct.

“Work to repair and renovate the historic Railway Goods Shed is the first step in the long-term Railway Parklands Priority Development Area Development Scheme,” Mayor Antonio said.

“The main construction works will start at the end of this year and be completed in mid-2018, weather permitting.

“These works will include repairing the structure and heritage fabric of the shed as well as landscaping and parking around the shed. This will prepare the shed for commercial and community use.”
