A quarter of a million dollars will go towards a feasibility study into the Quarry Gardens project for Toowoomba.

Premier Annastacia Palaszscuk says the State will commit $250,000 for the Garden City saying she believes it's time the project was revisited, adding that The Quarry Gardens could provide exciting benefits for Toowoomba and Queensland.

She says the proposal would be modelled on Butchart Gardens, Vancouver Island in Canada.

The funding has been welcomed by Labor’s Toowoomba North candidate Kerry Shine saying the funding from the Queensland Government “gets the ball rolling.”
