Toowoomba Police are hoping to contact a man and his family who were involved in an assault incident that happened around 1:30pm on Saturday (September 15.)

The assault occurred on Mackenzie Street near the intersection of Balling Drive, Centenary Heights when a man assaulted another man while he was riding with a group of people, police believe to be his family.

Police attended the scene of the assault locating the male offender, but the victim and his family had already left.

There was apparently also a motorist, driving a white utility, who stopped and attempted to help the family. Police would also like to speak to this motorist.
