Farmfest is one of Queensland’s biggest annual agricultural events, with around 60,000 visitors expected over the three days.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises Farmfest exhibitors and attendees to allow extra time when travelling along the Warrego Highway, due to important road works being conducted between Charlton and Kingsthorpe.

The Toowoomba to Oakey Duplication Stage 2 Project covers 5.4 kilometres between Leesons Road Charlton and just west of the Kingsthorpe-Haden road.

In addition, road works for the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing will restrict the highway to one lane in each direction from Charlton, approximately 10kms west of Toowoomba.

This section of the Warrego Highway is utilised by over 10,000 motorists daily, with extra traffic for the event bound to cause some congestion between 5-9 June.

There are current speed restrictions in place along with single-lane traffic while the road works are being undertaken, so please follow any road signage and traffic control instructions, and exercise patience.

TMR urges motorists to exercise extra care and stay alert for the safety of everyone using this section of the Warrego Highway.
