A Fig Tree Pocket man who had been missing for almost a day was located yesterday after being rescued from the escarpment at Mt Colliery.
He was found at the top of Gambubal Road after spending Saturday night in rough country above Mt Colliery, a rural community at the base of the mountains east of Warwick.
The man was transported by LifeFlight to the Police Forward Command centre on the property at Bakers Rd and then driven by four-wheel drive to the Mt Colliery Hall where an ambulance from the Queensland Ambulance Service Warwick station, was waiting to take him to the Warwick Hospital.
The 50 year-old-man was checked over at the hospital however he appeared to physically well and didn’t appear to be suffering any injuries, although he may have had a health condition.
More than 20 SES volunteers from Warwick, Stanthorpe and Toowoomba turned out to help locate the man as he was missing in rather rough country.
