After being snapped by waiting paparazzi at Sydney Airport last night, the rumour of Keith Urban being the special guest at the annual “It’s A Bloke Thing” luncheon held in Toowoomba was looking more like a reality.
At midday the rumour was confirmed, when Keith Urban landed at Wellcamp Airport and hit the stage at the ever-popular Prostate Cancer Awareness/Fundraiser to a crowd of 500 people who had paid to dollar to attend this very special event.
Prostate Cancer awareness is a subject particularly close to Urban’s heart. He lost his father Robert, to the disease in December 2015 and his grandfather and several of his uncles have also had the disease.
The country mega-star who is currently touring the States with his Graffiti-U World Tour took time to fly home to Australia to be part of an event that in just 7 short years has raised millions of dollars for Prostate Cancer Awareness and Research.
In 2017, the community contributed more than $1.53 million to the It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation making this event one of the largest daytime fundraising initiative in Australia.
Keith who gave his time for no fee helped to raise a record $2,024,000.00 from the lunch time fundraising event.
